You shouldn’t have to stop your YouTube videos just to read a couple comments.

myTube is designed to keep your video playing, no matter what. Read comments, check out a user’s channel, search for videos, and even change settings without ever missing a bit of your video; all the while running at a clean 60 frames per second. The result is one of the smoothest and most fun YouTube experiences you can get on your Windows Phone.

Are you tired of forgetting your passwords, account and credit card numbers?
This app provides you a secure place to leave your confidential information that you might forget after a while, such as ATM card passwords, your ex phone numbers and etc.
How it works?
This app uses the front-facing camera of your phone to recognize your face. After a successful recognition it will show you a secure place to leave your information.
SplashScreen
How can i use it?
After installing and running the app for the first time, it will ask you to match a grid face to your face for enrollment and tap the screen when you are ready. During enrollment you need to move your head gradually to any direction that you usually look into your phone. Be careful about lighting, most of front-facing cameras have not enough image quality and exposure control. Make sure you are in a proper lighting area. If you could not enroll successfully, just re-install the app. Keep it in mind that there is no other alternative way to see your information such as password. The only way to see your confidential information is your face.

Bloomberg reports: Nokia buying Siemens’s stake of NSN joint venture [UPDATED]**

Well, it looks like there’s some good news coming out of Finland tonight, as Bloomberg is reporting that Nokia has agreed to buy out the half of the joint-venture from Siemens. Nokia-Siemens Networks had been losing money until recently and Siemens had wanted to get away from the deal, so it’s not too much of a surprise that Nokia would pick up the now profitable division.

The sale price is reportedly “less than 2 billion euros ($2.6 billion)” and Nokia will use a bridge loan to help finance the purchase, in a deal that some investors will welcome while others may frown upon due to the tight purse strings already at the struggling smartphone maker.

Formed in 2006-07, Nokia Siemens Networks operates IPTV, WCDMA refarming, mobile TV, mobile backhaul and other “behind the scenes” technologies that power our mobile internets. The deal will help Nokia in the long run due to the profitable nature of the business, especially with some drastic cutbacks in recent years to help streamline their workforce. The business is also based in Espoo, Finland, meaning those jobs should be safe from a third-party purchaser.

Both Siemens and Nokia declined to comment on the deal, but an official announcement could come as early as tomorrow. Bloomberg has a fairly good history on these reports, noting that three people “familiar with the matter” have verified its authenticity.

The news comes as a last minute Board of Directors meeting was called at Nokia HQ recently, causing all sorts of hypothetical situations. Everything from Nokia being purchased by Microsoft to divvying up the company were floated, but in the end we defaulted with the Siemens deal as being the most likely and now that seems to be the case.

More as it comes in

The division’s income is extremely dependent on contracts from carriers, and has seen a recent boost from 4G network expansion which may not last.

The move is significant, as it confirms that Nokia sees itself as more than simply a handset OEM, but still seems themselves as a much larger and more diverse company with multiple sources of revenue. The move would also make the company a less attractive and less well packaged acquisition target, as it seems unlikely that any one buyer would want both a handset and network equipment manufacturer.

Update: It's official. Nokia has just sent out a press release confirming the report from Bloomberg. Nokia will acquire the entire 50% of Siemen's stake in the joint venture. The price? A cool 1.7 billion euros that Nokia will pay to complete the transaction. Pending regulatory approval, the deal should close sometime during the third quarter of this year. You can read the entire press release right here.

Free 7 Minute Workout app helps keep users in shape in no time at all

Beautiful workout view with audio cues7 Minute Workout for Windows Phone 8 is the premiere companion app for the popular workout featured recently in the New York Times and on Lifehacker.com. The premise of the 7-minute workout is simple. Short bursts of high-intensity exercises allow you to achieve maximum results while minimizing the length of your workout. Researchers carefully crafted a routine of 12 different upper and lower body exercises to attain these results. 7 Minute Workout for WP8 (along with a chair and a wall) is all you need to stay on top of this workout and meet your fitness goals.
Beautifully designed for the Windows Phone interface, this app guides you through your workout. Once you hit “play,” you can place your phone down and focus on the exercises, as audio cues tell you when to start and rest as well as what exercise to prepare for next. Beginners and experts alike will appreciate the included instructions to help you achieve proper form as well as the tips for each exercise and excerpts from the scientific study behind this effective program. Customize your workout by changing the length of each round. Add extra rest time if you need more time between sets or even change the order of the exercises to make it yours.
As the app guides you through exercises like jumping jacks, pushups, and squats, you are supposed to keep up with an “8 out of 10” on the discomfort scale to really push yourself and maximize your results, and while touted as the “7 minute workout,” a complete workout will run you a little over 21 minutes, as the researchers suggest you complete three 7-minute sets, which is built right into the app.
7 Minute Workout Download QR Code
Overall, 7 Minute Workout looks and feels incredibly polished with all of the functionality you come to expect from a quality app. Keeping up with the program may be difficult for some, but those looking to get or stay in shape should definitely download a copy of this app to help keep you on track.
7 Minute Workout is free (ad-supported) and you can find it in the Windows Phone store here or by scanning the tag to the right from your phone.

Will Justin Bieber show up at the Nokia EOS unveil?

image
imageNokia is unveiling the Nokia Lumia EOS next week, and recently tweeted this enigmatic message, suggesting Beliebers will have good reason to keep an eye on their webcast on the 11th July.
The inescapable conclusion is that Justin Bieber will be present at the event, which will go down well with some demographics, thought but not sure these are the same people who will shell out for a Lumia Windows Phone.
Of course the saving grace is that Bieber appears to have an event at Foro Sol on the same day, so we may be saved legions of screaming pre-teens after all …

Comscore: Windows Phone holds steady at 3% share for 3rd month in a row, adds 75,000 US subscribers

image
Comscore has released their monthly smartphone ownership numbers for the US market, and just like in March and April, in May 3% of US smartphone subscribers owned Windows Mobile or Windows Phone handsets.
The smartphone market has however continued to grow, adding 2.5 million users in the last month, and Windows Phone ownership itself grew by 75,000 or more users.
The news is not quite as good as for Blackberry, with ownership down 0.6% in the quarter, and down 0.3% from last month.  At this rate it should be less than 6 months before there are more Windows Phone than Blackberry owners in the US.
The situation otherwise appears pretty static in the US, but it would be good to see the Comscore numbers start edging up in the near future, as it has done elsewhere in the world.

Frys selling the Nokia Lumia 521 for only $119.99, but may already have sold out

image
US electronics retail chain Frys is offering the Nokia Lumia 521 for only $119.99, significantly below the $150 asked elsewhere.
The handset is contract-free but can only be used on the T-Mobile network.
The deal is limited, and unfortunately for buyers it will only run over the Independence day weekend, from the 28th June to 4th July and the handset is already sold out.
Keep an eye on the page here however, in case it is restocked.

Blackberry recovery story hits sticky end

image
Blackberry released their much anticipated quarterly earnings report today, and the company defied all expectations by announcing a $0.13 loss, when analysts were expecting a $0.08 profit.
In response Blackberry’s shares are down nearly 25% in pre-market, with a bloodbath expected for the rest of the day as share holders desperately try and exit holding the company.
To make matters worse Blackberry was unable to provide any clear guidance for the future, except to say that they expected a loss in the next quarter also.
Blackberry subscribers dropped another 4 million to 72 million and despite great sales in their homeland, Canada, North American revenue was up only 30%, suggesting those Kantar numbers which showed only 0.9% US market share were right all along.
Blackberry announced 6.8 million in BB7 and BB10 sales, and revealed in their earnings call only 2.6 million of these were Blackberry 10 handsets, explaining why, despite the very high sales prices of the Blackberry 10 handsets, which sold for as much as $300 on contract, margins were down further to 34%.
Blackberry refused to release sell-through numbers, but based on Inventory increasing $250 million they are likely not very good.
Microsoft recently made the point that they are firmly in the third spot, and based on Blackberry’s performance so far there is very little to argue with that opinion.  With Windows Phone slowly creeping up on iOS in market share in many markets, we can certainly see which OS is trending up and which is trending down. Hopefully developers distracted by Blackberry will now turn their attention to a more competitive ecosystem like Windows Phone.

Windows Phone shows increased developer interest, 2.5 times more than Blackberry 10

image
Appcelerator’s quarterly survey of 6046 developers taken in April this year shows that Windows Phone has been able to maintain and even grow somewhat developer interest, with 37% of developers surveyed very interested in developing for the OS.
This number is up from 36% in the last quarter, and constitutes a recovery from the rollercoaster ride of the Windows Phone 7 to Windows Phone 8 transition, which I think hurt developer interest more than Microsoft would ever admit.
The number is about half that of iOS and Android, with 87% and 78% interest respectively, and more than twice the 14% attributed to Blackberry 10, which even had to take a back seat to Firefox OS, which scored 25%.
Appcelerator notes there is an opportunity for a 3rd place player, and while they were not quite ready to crown Windows Phone we know Microsoft has already dismissed Blackberry as a a real threat.
Read the survey at Appcelerator here.

Flipboard also coming to Windows Phone 8

9v6nShV
Good news for Windows Phone users.  Flipboard announced that they will be making a metro app for Windows 8.
Windows Phone user Handi asked if the app was also coming to the phone OS and received a response to the affirmative, with Jason Pearson, Flipboard developer, saying:
“Flipboard will be available both on Windows 8, and it’s mobile version, so you can enjoy Flipboard on all your Windows 8 enabled devices.”
I guess we will soon be able to tick off one more app from the iPhone’s top 50. Now only Instagram to go…
