Shazam Launches Updated Windows Phone 8 App with Automatic Resubmission and LyricPlay

London – 27 June 2013 – Shazam®, the world’s leading media engagement company, today announces the launch of the latest version of the Shazam App for Windows Phone 8. Windows 3.5 boasts an innovative user interface and features including the industry’s fastest tagging, local tags and tagging from the home screen, along with two exciting new features:

• Automatic Resubmission – If people are in a poor network reception area, they no longer have to manually resubmit their tags when they get to a better reception area. Resubmission will happen automatically, and the user will be notified.
• LyricPlay – Fans can view lyrics synchronized in real-time with the music they are listening to, wherever they are.

The Shazam App is free with unlimited tags and helps consumers discover new music by identifying any song in mere seconds, then enabling them to go on and purchase their favorite tracks from either XBox Music or, if using a Nokia phone, Nokia Music. The app can also be used to tag any and all television ads and shows for further discovery. In addition to automatic resubmission and LyricPlay, the revamped Windows app has all the features of the original Windows phone version announced in May 2013, including local tags, social sharing, tagging from the Start screen, and more.

Downloading Shazam onto your Windows Phone 8 desktop, laptop or tablet is easy.  The Microsoft Windows Store is built into every platform, making downloading the app a simple transaction.
